Intro

Victor Wiggins was born in October 1970 and just a few months later became the youngest child in the UK to survive a groundbreaking 12-hour operation for a rare and complex heart condition.

Defying the odds through decades of medical challenges, he’s spent his life pushing limits to live a fulfilled life. Vic lives in Melbourne, Australia with his family.

A smiling middle-aged man with gray hair, wearing clear glasses and a black athletic shirt, standing against a plain light-colored background.

What is the book about?

Stitched Up is about my life living with a serious congenital heart condition and my journey from birth through to my mid 50’s when I received a heart transplant. My story is about how I tried to deal with the ever present cloud of anxiety fuelled by a constant fear that at any time I could die.

I hope to take the reader with me for a chat as I navigate my way through the many twists and turns that life throws us all with some, at times, hard and emotional stories but with plenty of anecdotes along the way!
